Joining TODAY from outside the White House, Dr. Deborah Birx, coordinator for the White House coronavirus task force, says that signs that the coronavirus curve may be flattening in some areas offer “great encouragement.” But she cautions Americans to continue social distancing despite these “early signs of hope.” Regarding disturbing signs that the virus affects black Americans in greater proportion, she says “we don’t think African-Americans are more susceptible,” but points to underlying conditions that may contribute.April 8, 2020
