Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, tells TODAY the results reported by drug maker Moderna are “really quite impressive … now we have two vaccines that are really quite effective.” He projects “that by the end of December there will be does of vaccine available for individuals in the high-risk category” from both Moderna and Pfizer. But “the virus is not going to stop and call a time out,” he warns: “The fact that help is on the way should spur us even more” to wear masks and take other safety measures.
