Couple ordered to hand over GoFundMe money raised for homeless man
A judge has ordered Kate McClure and boyfriend Mark D’Amico to return what’s left of the $400,000 they raised for Johnny Bobbit, a homeless veteran who gave McClure his last $20 when she was stranded. Bobbit’s lawyer says he’s only seen a fraction of the donation money, suspecting the couple may have squandered it on personal luxuries. McClure and D’Amico were due to pay back the cash by Friday, but Bobbit’s lawyer says he’s still waiting. NBC’s Matt Bradley reports for TODAY.
