Dr. Ashish Jha, dean of the Brown University School of Health, tells TODAY that if the U.S. “continues to ignore” its current surge in coronavirus cases, it may be heading the way of Europe, which is now imposing drastic new lockdowns. But he says that could be avoided if people wear masks, avoid gatherings and observe social distancing. He also says he thinks “in-person voting is very safe” if people follow basic precautions and plan their vote ahead.Nov. 2, 2020
