Colorado father accused of killing his wife and children shares his version of what happened in affidavit
In a newly-released arrest affidavit, Chris Watts, the Colorado man accused of killing his pregnant wife and two young daughters, is sharing his side of the story. Watts claims he and his wife spoke about splitting up, and he later saw her on a baby monitor “actively strangling” their 3-year-old while their 4-year-old was already “sprawled out on her bed and blue.” But the next day, he told the world his family was missing. Watts will appear in court Tuesday to be formally arraigned on multiple charges of first degree murder and tampering with the bodies of his family. NBC’s Miguel Almaguer reports for TODAY.
