Colin Hanks on ‘Life in Pieces,’ and his horrified reaction to David S. Pumpkins

05:11

Actor Colin Hanks is the son of Tom Hanks, but he’s made his own name in shows including “Life in Pieces,” now in its second season. He tells TODAY he was attracted to the sitcom by its unique structure: “Here’s a show that actually has every generation represented,” he says. He also comments on his dad’s “SNL” turn as David S. Pumpkins, and says “as surreal as it is for all of you, it’s five times more surreal for me,” and that his young children will “never” see the bizarre skit.
