Kathleen Donahue Bruyere was a key figure in the movement for women’s rights in the military, filing a lawsuit that challenged a law preventing women from serving at sea. A federal judge struck down the law in 1978. She died this month at age 76 and will be buried with full military honors at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego. Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist remembers a life well-lived.
