    California wildfires death toll climbs to 44

    The fast-moving wildfires in California – outside Los Angeles and up north near the town of Paradise – have now claimed the lives of at least 44 people. President Trump declared a disaster in the state, while 70,000 homes still remain in the infernos’ path of destruction. NBC national correspondent Miguel Almaguer reports for TODAY.
