A black bear mauled the leader of a Boy Scout troop as the man and three Scouts hiked through a popular part of the New Jersey wilderness. The boys used their training in the crisis, and authorities credit them with helping the Scout leader eventually escape after being in a cave with the bear for more than an hour.
