Biologist and son in intensive care after giraffe attack

Dr. Katy Williams and her 3-year-old son, Finn, are recovering from a vicious and rare giraffe attack at the wildlife reserve where they live in South Africa. The wildlife biologist and her son were kicked by the animal protecting her young. The family says Williams has regained consciousness, using sign language to talk, and Finn is stable after brain surgery. NBC’s Kelly Cobiella reports for TODAY.
