Biologist and professor Lynika Strozier dies at 35: ‘She was an inspiration’

At 8 years old, Lynika Strozier was diagnosed with a severe learning disability, but her grandmother was determined that she would succeed. Strozier earned two master’s degrees, became an adjunct professor at Malcolm X College in Chicago and was recently recognized by the Field Museum in Chicago for her accomplishments. She died earlier this month at age 35 due to complications from the coronavirus. Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist remembers a life well-lived.June 28, 2020
