Be the Match: How a cotton swab is helping save tens of thousands of lives
Bone marrow donor Shauna McLaughlin met her recipient, Markel Carras, for the first time. Meanwhile, seven-year-old Anna DeLaney is nearing her 100th day of recovery after a life-saving bone marrow transplant. Thanks to the organization Be the Match, more than 80,000 bone-marrow recipients have gotten a second chance at life from kind people who have become part of the donor registry.
