Arkansas conducts controversial execution after Ledell Lee’s appeal was denied


The Supreme Court cleared the way for Arkansas to carry out its first execution in more than a decade. Ledell Lee, 51, was put to death by lethal injection just before midnight on Thursday. The court rejected a series of last-minute appeals, allowing the first of multiple executions scheduled for April to take place. NBC News Justice correspondent Pete Williams has the report for TODAY.
