Analyst: Trump firing up his base at debate ‘has nothing to do with winning’

03:56

Did Donald Trump’s latest debate performance put to rest panic within the party? NBC News political analyst Nicolle Wallace, NBC News political director Chuck Todd and NBC News political correspondent Steve Kornacki weigh in. Wallace says it’s not enough to fire up the base with a debate performance, that “winning… it’s about people who are registered either as Democrats or Republicans but who wait until the events or the news coverage in the final weeks of the campaign to make their decision” and for Trump, the lewd comments will remain out there every day.
