Donald Trump was expected to name Gov. Mike Pence as his vice presidential running mate Friday, but postponed the announcement following the truck attack in Nice, France. Bloomberg Politics managing editor Mark Halperin tells TODAY that Pence, who is liked by many conservatives, represents a “safe, responsible” choice. NBC political analyst Nicolle Wallace says that Pence is “off the Trump brand” and that Trump may have welcomed “another minute” to consider his choice, but Halperin thinks “their anti-Washington message” will unite Trump and Pence.
