Amid coronavirus surge, sports press ahead with plans to restart play

Despite an alarming rise in coronavirus cases across the country, several major sports leagues plan to restart play by the end of the month. But NBC Sports’ Mike Tirico reports tells TODAY that it will be interesting to see how many Major League Baseball players decline to play due to health concerns, and how basketball in a “bubble” will work for the NBA. He says that pro football “has the most runway” to adjust to the pandemic, and comments on the likelihood of a name change for the Washington Redskins.
