Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ousts Rep. Joseph Crowley in major Democratic House upset
In a surprising political upset in New York on Tuesday, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old first-time candidate, ousted 10-term Democratic Congressman Joe Crowley in a congressional primary in New York. Crowley was once seen as Nancy Pelosi’s possible successor as Democratic leader or even speaker of the house. NBC’s Kasie Hunt reports for TODAY.
