ABC greenlights ‘Roseanne’ spinoff without Roseanne Barr

Weeks after ABC canceled its hit reboot of “Roseanne" due to a series of racists tweets from its star, the network announced Thursday it will instead air a “Roseanne” spinoff. Barr will not be part of the series, tentatively titled “The Conners,” which will feature cast members John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert. NBC’s Craig Melvin reports for TODAY.
