‘Potentially hazardous’ asteroid expected to zoom past Earth
On Saturday, Earth will have a close encounter by a 3-mile-wide asteroid zooming through our solar system. NASA scientists, who have dubbed the asteroid “3200 Phaethon,” say there is likely nothing to worry about – but warn it could be potentially hazardous. NBC’s Maya Rodriguez reports for TODAY.
