A beautiful morning on the plaza calls for two beautiful and very excited women receiving a sophisticated Ambush Makeover.
Celebrity hairstylist Louis Licari and TODAY Style Squad member Jill Martin took the reins on these awesome transformations, giving these two very deserving women fabulous new haircuts, makeup and outfits.
Kathy Sigmund, 50, from St. Paul, Missouri, was in New York for the first time with her boss, Cindy, and Cindy's sister, Paula. Sigmund said she's very outdoorsy and loves to go hiking and fishing. She has a husband named Jay and five children.
Sigmund felt she was in need of a new look since she's had curly hair for 25 years and recently celebrated her 50th birthday.
"I think it's time for a change," Sigmund told TODAY.
Our Ambush team gave her a totally new 'do to celebrate her exciting milestone, and Cindy and Paula were amazed. "She's the bomb!" Paula said.
The Ambush team added volume to Sigmund's hair by updating her perm look, which Licari said was "reminiscent of the '80s," and playing with layers and texture. Add in a great new hair color, and Sigmund was smiling from ear to ear.
Martin styled Sigmund in a color-blocked dress with built-in control panels and a flattering V-neckline.
Here's how you can get a similar look:
Nue by Shani Colorblocking Ottoman Dress, $294, Bluefly
Amy Adcock, 43, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a speech therapist who recently got her real estate license, which is why she wanted to update her look.
She was on a family vacation that started in Washington, D.C., with her husband, Mike, and her children, Will and Lily. Her condition for coming to New York? It had to be on a Thursday so she could participate in Ambush Makeover, of course!
Adcock and her family all had the same reaction when they saw her sophisticated new look: "Oh, my God!"
The Ambush team gave Adcock a lighter, softer hairstyle with jagged bangs, and her makeup really drew this new look together. Adcock told Martin that she likes Hoda's look, hence the red cold-shoulder top the team went with.
Here's how you can get Adcock's look:
Signature Cold Shoulder Tunic, $79, Clara Sunwoo
Bandolino Mandie Jean, $35, Belk
Isa Block-Heel Pumps, $149, Talbots
Congratulations to both ladies on their fabulous new looks!
