TODAY is throwing a fabulous wedding at New York City's Rainbow Room for one adorable couple, Kaitlin Roseman and John West — and we need your help!
You've already voted on the gown and tux, rings, bridesmaid dresses, welcome sign, bridal hairstyle and favors for this momentous occasion, but we're not done yet. Now comes an important decision that will have a major impact on the bride, groom and all of their guests alike: the couple's signature cocktail!
"People are looking for something unique and different that they can personalize at a wedding," Nick Mautone, Managing Director of Rainbow Room and Bar SixtyFive at the Rainbow Room, told TODAY. "Having a signature cocktail is another way for a couple to truly personalize their wedding and it's a great way to show common taste between the newlyweds."
Mautone is a creative genius when it comes to cocktails and came up with these three gorgeous contenders.
1. The Grapest Love of All
Muddled grapes and rosemary form the base of this beautiful and fragrant cocktail that's garnished with speared black grapes. As for the name, we couldn't resist recalling one of our all-time favorite love songs!
1 ounce simple syrup
1/2 teaspoon rosemary leaves
6 black grapes
1 ounce lemon juice
1 ounce St. Germaine Elderflower Liqueur
1½ ounces Grey Goose Le Citron
Garnished with black grapes speared like olives
Directions: In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, place the syrup, rosemary, grapes and muddle well to extract the juice. Add ice and the rest of ingredients. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosted and beaded with sweat. Double strain the cocktail into coupe glass and garnish.
2. Marry Me Martini
Ultra refreshing and perfectly balanced, this delicious cocktail will help keep the guests on the dance floor with an energizing combination of cucumber (for fresh breath and digestive health), sage (for mind and memory), acai (for vigorous health) and ginger (for anti-inflammatory properties and heart health).
1 ounce agave nectar or simple syrup
4 fresh sage leaves
4 slices cucumber
1½ ounces VeeV Acai Spirit
1/2 ounce Canton Ginger Liqueur
1/2 ounce lime juice
Garnished with sage leaves and cucumber slices
Directions: In the bottom of a cocktail shaker place the agave nectar, sage and cucumber and muddle thoroughly. Add the ice and the rest of ingredients. Shake vigorously. Double strain the cocktail into a martini glass and garnish.
3. Honeymoon Sunset
This bubbly drink has a beautiful ombré effect that reminds us of a sunset. The cocktail is full of passion from the cherry, heat from the jalapeño slices and exotic flavors from the pineapple juice and turmeric, plus happy bubbles from the Champagne.
2 ounces Casa Migas Tequila
3/4 ounce Cointreau
3/4 ounce simple syrup
1 ounce cherry juice
1 ounce pineapple juice
4 slices jalapeño
1/4 teaspoon dried turmeric
4 ounces Champagne or sparkling wine
Garnished with a pineapple wedge and cherry
Directions: In a cocktail shaker, place the tequila, Cointreau, simple syrup, cherry juice, pineapple juice, jalapeño slices and turmeric. Add the ice and shake vigorously. Double strain the cocktail into Champagne glasses, then top with the Champagne and garnish.
