It was a beautiful late-summer day on the plaza and, not surprisingly, it was packed with TODAY fans.
Our Ambush Makeover dynamic duo of celebrity hair colorist Louis Licari and TODAY Style Squad member Jill Martin had a tough choice, but they found two women — best friends for over 35 years — who were so excited about the chance to get new looks.
First up was Deb Zimnoch, 50, from Pennsylvania. She's a mom to a 14-year-old son and works in auditing. She recently celebrated her milestone birthday and was ready for a change. Zimnoch told our Ambush team she would never take the plunge to cut her hair, so that's where they came in.
"Oh, my gosh!" exclaimed Zimnoch. "I love it! I love it!"
Licari took Zimnoch from blonde to a beautiful soft brunette color that really made her complexion pop. For the haircut, Igor Musayev gave her a chic bob.
Stuff We Love
Martin completed this fabulous new look with an elegant deep-purple sheath dress.
And let's not forget about the gorgeous makeup by Edin O'Sullivan that brought this all together.

After Deb Zimnoch's fabulous new look, it was time for her bestie's reveal.
Lisa Boltz, 51, lost her husband of 20 years last September and is now trying to spend time finding herself. Zimnoch actually convinced Boltz to come along with her for a chance to get an Ambush Makeover.
Hoda screamed, "Cute!" as soon as Boltz walked into the studio.
And then it was time for both friends to see each other. Zimnoch's jaw instantly dropped as soon as she saw her friend.
"Oh, my God! I love it!" said Boltz upon her big reveal. She couldn't help but smile as she looked at herself in the mirror.
Licari darkened Boltz's hair for some dimension and Musayev gave her a stylish new haircut to compliment her color.
Martin dressed Boltz in staples for fall so she could start building out her wardrobe for the new season.
