While Siri Daly’s hair is always on point, she decided to up the ante this summer with a new look that will look great well into fall.
That’s right, folks — Siri Daly decided to lighten up her locks — and it will come as no surprise that she’s totally rocking it.
“I knew I wanted a lighter look for summer, but I didn't want something I'd have to maintain all fall and winter,” Daly told TODAY Style. “I went with the balayage method, which offers a softer look and less noticeable regrowth lines.”
Bayalage has been super trendy for the past few years — and we hope it doesn’t go away any time soon. It’s a hand-painted highlighting technique that slowly fades from dark to light resulting in a look that’s very natural, easy to maintain and just plain gorgeous. For Daly, the easy maintenance is key.
“After I started having kids, I quit doing anything to my hair for years — as in, showering and brushing it was a real triumph,” said Daly. “But I've been having fun playing with my hair again and for now I'm happy with the lighter look.”
Daly, a cookbook author and frequent TODAY contributor who happens to be married to TODAY’s Carson Daly, said she’s “naturally a light brunette,” but decided to make the change “on a whim over the summer.”
“(It) is how I often make hair decisions,” said Daly. “I don't like to think about it too much, I just like to act on my impulses!”
Daly got her new 'do from Muze Salon in New York City — and she's loving the new look.
“I do love the look — especially for the summer,” said Daly. “And the layered cut allows for my hair to air dry and wave up, which saves a lot of time.”
Two thumbs up for this mom haircut!
