It was a gorgeous summer day on the TODAY plaza Thursday, and our Ambush Makeover team was ready to work their magic. TODAY contributor Jill Martin and hairstylist found two excited women looking for some well-earned pampering.

Working as momager for her talented daughters, Janet Carr, 56, wanted some beauty TLC. The mom of three, who previously worked as a flight attendant for 25 years, held a sign that read "Help Wanted Please Ambush Me!"

After three hours with our team, Carr's big reveal left her husband Bob and two daughters in true shock. Their jaws dropped as they saw Carr for the first time.

"I'm glamorous!" She said looking at her new look in the mirror.

Next up was 42-year-old Kathy Burke. As a mom of three and grade school teacher's assistant, Burke doesn't have time to worrying about hair, make up and style.

Burke's family was speechless when she walked into Studio 1A with a new look. Her husband Stoney even had to adjust his glasses to make sure he was seeing things correctly.

"Oh goodness! I don't look like the same person," she said.
