Over the years, CoverGirl has teamed up with tons of famous faces — and the brand’s newest ambassador is certainly no exception!

On Wednesday, the cosmetics giant announced that 69-year-old model Maye Musk will join the ranks of Zendaya, Katy Perry and Sofia Vergara (just to name a few).

In addition to her accomplishments on the catwalk, the industry icon also has two master’s degrees in nutrition and dietetics. And did we mention that her son is Elon? Yes, the genius behind SpaceX.

“With wearing makeup a part of my job as a model, one might think I’d get tired of it, but I absolutely love it,” says Musk. “I think that’s one thing that’s kept me working in this industry for so long, my interest in self-representation. And recently, I’ve become so much more engaged in social media, particularly Instagram, which is yet another way I can show people the many different sides of myself.”

"Maye Musk is not only a timeless beauty, but a visionary who has always followed her own path, creating new opportunities and paving the way for so many others who might not meet the industry standard of ‘model,’ but are truly beautiful in every regard,” says CoverGirl SVP, Ukonwa Ojo. “This is exactly what CoverGirl is all about: Owning your identity and proudly sharing with the world all the facets that make you, you. She is an affirmation of the power and importance of diversity and inclusivity in the world of beauty.”

The news comes after a brand-wide push to promote diversity and break down beauty boundaries that includes signing Issa Rae, Ayesha Curry, Nura Afia, the first hijab-wearing CoverGirl, and James Charles, the first “CoverBoy.”

We can’t wait to see what’s next for the brand and its amazing ambassadors!
