It's winter in New York City, but that didn't stop two lovely ladies from coming out to the Plaza! Our Ambush Makeover team of celebrity hairstylist Louis Licari and TODAY Style Squad member Jill Martin were on the scene to give them a brand-new look.
First up is Debbie Bogert from Sullivan, Missouri. The 59-year-old drove across the country to help her daughter, Danielle, move for a new job.
Her daughter welled up thinking about how much her mom deserves to be pampered saying, "She deserves this more than anybody."
Bogert was not only able to enjoy a relaxing morning of pampering, she also left with a glamorous new look that brought her daughter to tears.
Master hairstylist Arsen Gurgov chopped off a significant amount of length, but kept enough to create soft, face-framing layers. Bogert was even able to donate the locks she cut off! After the chop, Licari lightened her hair color for a modern look that flattered her gorgeous skin tone.
For Bogert's outfit, Martin chose classic black separates and added a faux-leather jacket with gold zipper detailing; the perfect look to walk the line between cool and professional.
Next up is Shirley Shammas from Mount Vernon, Virginia. The Navy veteran turns 60 years old today. And what better way to celebrate than with an all-over refresh!
To make sure she had an extra-special day, her friends got together to make posters asking the Ambush team to keep her on their radar. It seems like their plan worked!
Shammas' confidence post-makeover was clear as she strutted out into the studio with a smile. To achieve the look, Gurvov kept the original length and added subtle layers to frame her face. Licari lightened her base color while adding some golden highlights to add some depth and dimension.
When her friends saw her, they were shocked!
Martin decided to style Shirley in a gorgeous teal dress with a chic, black, laser-cut overlay and paired it with a belt to show off her tiny waist.
Congratulations are in order for both ladies who look absolutely stunning!
