Newly crowned Miss USA Alyssa Campanella joined TODAY on the plaza this morning to talk about the moment she won the pageant -- and reveal a career hazard that drives her crazy.
The beauty queen, whose job involves strolling up and down staircases in skyscraper stilettos, doesn't like wearing high heels.
"I mean, I love shoes," she said while wearing soaring strappy snakeskin platforms, "but I don't really love heels, because they can hurt your feet."
What's more, the California girl dished, she's not so good at walking in them.
"I end up tripping," she admitted. "I tripped in my preliminary evening gown on my shoes, so, confirmation why I don't like heels."
Campanella will compete again on Sept. 12 in the Miss Universe pageant in Sao Paolo, Brazil. You can watch her navigate the stage (in heels, of course!) on NBC.
