Raise your hand if you're ready to shed the puffy jackets and winter layers. So, everyone?

If overhauling the closet feels overwhelming, the easiest way to update your look for spring is to try a playful and pretty new beauty trend.

1. Gold highlighter

Make like Team USA's Chloe Kim and go for the gold!

While dewy skin has been a trend since last year, the new version is all about shiny, shimmery gold. The best part? It looks gorgeous on everyone!

The beauty world is raving about Rihanna’s beauty line, Fenty Beauty, and it's “Trophy Wife” highlighter. With more than 1,500 five-star reviews on Sephora, it just might be an instant classic.

But it's not the only gold standard! Hip beauty brand Milk Makeup has their gold highlighter in an easy-to-use (and carry) stick form while the fashion-forward and affordable brand Colourpop cheekily calls their best-selling version "Lunch Money."

2. Bright shadow colors

Bring on the color! Searches for “bright eye shadow” are up 63 percent since last year, according to Pinterest.

Blue, green and even red, pink and orange shadow are big for 2018. And it's easier to wear than you might think. Try it ‘70s-style with a wash of color across the upper lids or modernize it with a skinny streak underneath the eyes, which is sometimes called “upside-down liner.” Why should lids have all the fun?

From runway-superstar Pat McGrath's "Mothership" palette to Urban Decay's electric brights and NYX's drugstore favorite, the color options are endless.

3. Bold eyeliner

Forget no-makeup makeup: This eye look is all about being bold!

Line your eyes from top to bottom with a kohl or charcoal formula; just make sure it's waterline safe. For a shimmery, runway-worthy version, be sure to try Marc Jacobs' Twinkle Pop Eye Sticks in the perfectly chunky size. L'Oreal's "Infalliable" liner is true to it's name with a waterproof formula that's as wearable and intense as any prestige brand.

Or take a cue from TODAY favorite Joanna Gaines and try Revlon's Colorstay Eye Liner. She's said in past interviews that she can't live without it. (Psst: It's only $6!)

4. Blurred lips

You know those complicated lip kits that take five steps and last as long a tattoo? And, heaven forbid, you make a mistake; you'll live with that error until your next shower.

Enough of the Sharpie-like liquid lipsticks! The biggest trend this year is easy-to-apply formulas that add just a hint of lip color. Think of these lip tints as “better than lip balm,” enhancing your natural features ever so subtly. You can even apply without peeking in a mirror!

Want to try a new hairstyle without a cut? Put a bow on it!

The best part of this trend is how easy and versatile it is. The style can be worn with a million different hairstyles: updos, double buns, side braids or whatever you can think up. This sweet and romantic look will go perfectly with a sundress or spring blouse.
