North West may be just 13 months old, but that hasn’t stopped the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West from getting her first taste of “flashing lights” as a model for CR Fashion Book.
Photographed by Michael Avedon, baby North sports a button-up sweater and gazes off-camera in the black-and-white image, released yesterday. Chanel accessories, including a flower-shaped brooch and a purse that drapes over her lap, accent her ensemble.
The caption for Michael Avedon’s photo calls the celebrity baby the “youngest subject to be photographed” for the collection’s fifth fashion book, and cites a quote from sartorial icon Karl Lagerfeld: “It’s never too early to care about fashion.”
Helmed by former Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld, CR Fashion Book admits in the photo caption that 13 months of life experience might be on the earlier side of launching a modeling career, but predicts “a bright fashion future for the already famed daughter of Kanye and past cover star, Kim.”
West, 21-time Grammy Award winner, and Kardashian, perhaps reality TV’s biggest star, married May 24 in Florence, Italy.
North isn’t the only member of the family getting attention for her clothes this week. On Tuesday, a New York City police officer was caught checking out her mom in the city’s SoHo neighborhood.
That same day, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star spoke with TODAY’s Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb about how her daughter, whom she calls Nori, reacts when other photographers try to snag photos.
“Every time there is a camera out and pararazzi, and they’re taking pictures, I do a lot of things indoors and in private gated communities,” Kardashian said. “I figured out where to keep her as private as possible, and find parks that aren’t out in the open with the paparazzi. But when there are those times — when we’re going to the airport or places where I can’t really shield her — she does either, like, a mean, angry Kanye face or, like, a pose.”
Perhaps reality TV’s biggest star has more family photos to share. Kim Kardashian's 352-page book of selfies, called “Selfish,” is slated for release in 2015.
