Out with the old and in with the new! That's the mantra actress Kate Hudson seems to be living by these days as she decided to shed her famous long locks.
On the day of the Golden Globes, the 36-year-old took to Instagram and Snapchat to share that she was in the process of getting a chop. And while her Golden Globes look did include a lob-esque haircut, she later took the plunge and cut even more inches off her golden tresses.

Her go-to mane man for years, celebrity stylist David Babaii, posted an Instagram picture of Hudson with her fresh cut, which Babaii called a "classic a-line bob." This style, which is longer in the front and slightly shorter in the back, has been sported on stars like Victoria Beckham and Giuliana Rancic in the past.

At the premiere of her new movie, "Kung Fu Panda 3," Hudson sported her shorter hair in tousled waves, proving just how versatile a layered cut like this can be. It also looks fabulous straight.

There's no word yet on what inspired the actress to chop off her locks, but Hudson has been changing things up with her hair over the last few months. During the summer, she took to Instagram to share that a role in a new movie prompted her to go with a shorter 'do to get into character.
And weeks later, she shared that she was experimenting with her hair color and debuted what seemed like even blonder locks.
