We want our kids to be well dressed and looking sharp for the holidays, but not so uncomfortable in their festive finery that we’ll never hear the end of it.

Amy Goodman, senior lifestyle editor for Zulily.com, staged a fashion show on TODAY Friday, featuring pint-sized models in holiday looks that are equal parts comfortable and adorable.

Here are Goodman’s outfit ideas for getting your kids looking their best this holiday season.

Nordic warmth

If it’s cold outside and your kids don’t want to bundle up in a coat, consider a warm sweater, like a Nordic-inspired one from Zara.com, and this toggle sweater from Gymboree.com.

“The best part about the sweaters is so often kids will say, ‘I don’t want to wear a jacket. I don’t want to put it on,’” Goodman said, chatting alongside Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. “A sweater that’s enforced with fleece, which both of these are, really keeps them warm and comfortable.

Sparkly season

It’s the season to shine, in sequins and velvet. And, the tuxedo look is popular, too.

This pale pink, sparkly jumpsuit from hm.com offers a festive dose of shine.

And it may be too much for a little man to wear the whole tux look, so try stealing just a part of it. This little guy is wearing velvet trousers with all the “big man” accessories — a fedora, bow tie, and suspenders, from Appaman.com.

Sixties styling

We may love the retro look on us, but wait until you see it on your kids.

This darling gold floral jacquard dress from Carters.com is topped off with a coat and matching hat. And if your son’s shirt always comes untucked — or never gets tucked in in the first place — have him pull on a vest, like this one from Teacollection.com, to pull together the whole look.

Try texture

This faux fur jacket makes a statement on its own, and underneath is a super-fun confetti dress. “This is like the new ruffle for the season,” Goodman says. And if your son will wear a full suit, here’s one from JanieandJack.com, with a tie from Stinkymcgee.com.

Plaid party

Seasonal plaid never looked so easy.

For the boys, here’s a plaid fleece top from Gap.com, with herringbone pants that pull on like sweats. What could be more comfy? And for the girls, this metallic shimmery plaid skirt from JanieandJack.com is sure to please, as is this windowpane plaid jacket from Oldnavy.com that mixes well with a floral swing dress.
