How do you follow up the most famous fringes in politics? With gold-kissed highlights, of course.
First lady Michelle Obama recently added noticeable streaks to her locks, drawing attention to them in a far more subtle way than her last dramatic coif change. Although she's sported a few highlights for the summer, this most recent update looks far lighter than before.
Earlier this year, on her 49th birthday in Jan., Obama inspired a new Twitter account by posting a photo of herself with a new haircut – which included a set of bangs.
A month later, she appeared on "The Rachael Ray” show and joked the new ’do was “my mid-life crisis.”
“I couldn't get a sports car. They won't let me bungee jump. So instead, I cut my bangs,” she told the talk show host.
The first lady started growing out her much buzzed-about bangs several months ago. She recently explained her decision in a Parade magazine interview.
“You know, it’s hard to make speeches with hair in your face,” she said.
(The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TODAY.com.)
