Some things are worth splurging on, some things… not so much. But of all the crazy luxury products out there, $20 Chanel-branded cotton pads are both totally absurd and yet totally appropriate.

Worth the money? Chanel now sells luxury cleansing cotton pads.Chanel / Styleite

Forgive us for stating the obvious here, but the woman who spends $20 on a bottle of nail polish probably isn’t going to bat an eye at spending $20 on a set of cotton pads. And you do get 100 pads, which means it works out to the chump change price of 20 cents a piece! Also, these are no ordinary cotton pads, they’re made from the cotton-y fibers of no less than three different continents. Chanel explains:

CHANEL brings the highest-quality cosmetic cotton pads to the U.S., lending pure luxury to a woman’s daily cleansing and toning ritual. LE COTON is an exquisitely soft tri-layer pad developed in Japan: its outer lining, made from delicate, handpicked Egyptian cotton, and its inner filling, comprised of lightly entwined, elastic Australian fibers. Combined, this ultra-absorbent, lint-free composition increases the effectiveness of CHANEL Cleansers and Toners, treating even the most sensitive skin to unparalleled gentleness. Each LE COTON pad is generously sized and delicately embossed with the world-renowned CHANEL logo.

So let’s get down to brass tacks: awesome or absurd? Would you buy them?
