If there really is a fountain of youth, we’re pretty sure Christie Brinkley is a regular visitor.
The 63-year-old supermodel, who recently appeared in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, seems to have stopped aging altogether, although she insists it’s no thanks to magic potions or anything like that.
In a new interview with Forbes, Brinkley credits science for her good looks, revealing what she does in her own life to stunt the aging process.
So, what are the tricks?
Yes, it’s one we’ve heard a lot but it’s so important it bears repeating. Brinkley, a vegetarian, is an advocate for eating lots of fruits and veggies. She also eats "a rainbow diet in which you fill your plates with as many colors as you can so that you get a wide variety of anti-oxidants."
And yes, candy comes in all different hues but that’s not what she means. That’s Brinkley’s other nutritional rule: Avoid artificial or unknown ingredients, added sugar, processed white flour and excess salt.
There are scientifically proven health benefits to smiling, so go ahead and flash those pearly whites like Brinkley does.
And when it comes to looking on the bright side, always try to do so. Being positive will naturally lift the corners of your lips, and who doesn’t find a happy face attractive?
Brinkley is adamant about wearing her SPF. In fact, her skincare line Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare features many products that protect against the harmful effects of the sun. Her motto? "Don't bake, fake instead."
So, swipe on some bronzer, wear clothes that enhance the hue of your skin and save yourself from those aging rays.
Drink plenty of water
Brinkley said that when she drinks lots of water, she feels so much better. H2O also has a scientific benefit for your skin. That’s because not getting enough of it “can result in your skin becoming drier, tighter, flakier, less resilient and more prone to wrinkling,” according to the University of Wisconsin.

"The key is mixing things up, maintaining variety, integrating exercise into your daily routines and making exercise fun," Brinkley said. Sitting still can lead to weight gain and other health problems, so get moving.
