Singer-songwriter Rihanna just released a chart-topping album, but that's not the only news in the Barbadian star's life these days.
The 27-year-old style star is rocking a brand new hair 'do, too. On Wednesday, Rihanna visited "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" sporting a much shorter hairstyle than fans have seen recently. She's chopped her cascading tresses into a blunt, chin-grazing bob that looks very sleek and sophisticated.
And she's far from alone. It seems that celebrities can't get enough of the bob or "lob" look, which is short for long bob. This year alone, we've seen everyone from Kate Hudson to Halle Berry to Melissa McCarthy embrace shorter styles.

There's no denying that there is something fresh and cool about these trendy cuts, especially after years of long, romantic waves dominating the red carpet. In the past, we've seen stars going for bobs that have lots of texture thanks to layers, but Rihanna proves that a blunt cut can look especially chic.

However, this hairstyle is nothing new for the award-winning singer. In 2007, around the time that her hit "Umbrella" was hitting airwaves, Rihanna had a very similar haircut with face-framing bangs. Now that she has short hair again, perhaps she'll add fringe next.

With the Grammy's just around the corner and Rihanna set to perform, we are anxious to see how this stylish star wears her new short 'do.
