Get Stuff We Love
It was a scorcher out on the plaza, but two best friends got picked from the crowd for even hotter looks.
Even though Annie Berrett and Aura Morrey live over 2,000 miles apart, they're still best friends and make sure to see each other at least once a year.
Get Stuff We Love
They're both huge fans of the show and were so excited when their elaborate sign caught the eye of the Ambush Makeover team. TODAY Style Squad member Jill Martin and celebrity hairstylist Louis Licari worked their magic to give these ladies beautiful new looks, and the reactions were amazing!
Annie Berrett, 52, lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with her husband, Brad, and her two kids. She was ready for a fun transformation to kick off her first trip to New York.
Morrey told Martin, "No one deserves a makeover more than my friend Annie."
Our Ambush team delivered with a glamorous transformation that left Berrett's husband in tears.
The couple has been married for 27 years. Brad said, "I met her when she was 15, I was 17, and I fell in love the very first time I saw her."
We're not crying ... you're crying!
The Ambush team chopped off several inches for a chic asymmetrical bob with side-swept bangs. Licari added golden highlights to soften the look and add dimension to her gorgeous brown hair.
Martin styled Berrett in a chic jumpsuit and added a structured cardigan to help this look transition from the hot summer weather to a breezy fall outfit in a cinch.

Aura Morrey, 47, was roommates with Berrett when they lived in Utah. She now lives in Seattle, Washington, with her two kids and watches Ambush Makeover every week.
The Ambush team was thrilled to give her the royal treatment.
Berrett told Martin her friend hasn't always looked like this: "When we met she had bright red hair that was short and adorable."
Licari brought Morrey back to her red hair days with a fabulous copper color. The team added subtle layers throughout the cut and added a side-swept bang to showcase her bright blue eyes.
Martin styled her in a chic cold-shoulder top and added a pair of bootleg jeans for a stylish silhouette.
