Ariel Winter has revealed the significance behind another one of her three brand-new tattoos!

The "Modern Family" star, 18, shared a close-up of her second and "most special" tattoo with her Instagram fans on Wednesday, explaining that the series of capital letters represented "the initials of five of the most important beings in my life: my nieces and nephew."

Winter went on to detail how the ink's placement — on her rib cage, just below her heart — also had meaning for her. "They are my inspiration, and my reason for living. Love these babies more than anything and proud to have their initials forever on my body," she wrote, before sharing each youngster's full name.

Fans of the actress know she often shares photographs of her beloved little ones.

Earlier this month Winter shared a shot of another fresh tattoo, this one a bit of cursive script on her hip.

The phrase is Greek for "Love risks everything and asks for nothing," Winter tweeted to a fan.

The photos are more evidence that Winter is feeling confident about her body. But things weren't always so happy for the young star. Just last month, Winter told Ellen DeGeneres how growing up in the public eye caused her to have severe body-image issues, and she also opened up about her much-publicized decision to undergo breast reduction surgery at 17.

"[It] was already very hard to grow up in front of the public and also have your body changing, and then go through a surgery, which I decided to make public because I thought it was very important to talk to women about it in general, because I know there are so many people who have been in my position who needed the surgery."

Winter surprised some fans in January when she walked the SAG Awards red carpet with her surgery scars in plain view. The following day, the actress defended her bold choice by tweeting, "Guys there is a reason I didn't make an effort to cover up my scars!"

"They are part of me and I'm not ashamed of them at all."
