When it comes to personal style, "Dangerous Woman" singer Ariana Grande is best known for a few things: wearing animal ears as accessories, having long, pointy nails and — most notably — styling her hair in a ubiquitous high ponytail.
This sophisticated and decidedly grown-up style marks a momentous beauty moment for Grande, who hasn't changed her slicked back, voluminous ponytail since her Nickelodeon days.
It's the most notable update she’s embraced since November of last year, when she borrowed some inspiration from her grandmother and went platinum for a music video for her single “Focus.” About that look, she told ET Online: "I wanted to do my ponytail in white for a while, or in a different color. I actually was sitting opposite my Nonna and I was like, 'Nonna, I love your white hair. It's so beautiful.’”
In that same interview, she went on to hint at future changes, saying, "I feel like every little project is just like a little character ... I definitely have been enjoying switching it up a little more."
Though her platinum days were made possible by a very convincing wig, we’re inclined to believe that the new bangs are the real thing. The 23-year-old was likely referencing her eye-grazing fringe in a series of now-deleted tweets, including one that said, "Change. feelin free. happy. Banginnnnnnn."
After an outpouring of support from her fans, she asked her Twitter followers: "why do y'all always gotta be right about everything. I love you. ty for loving me and caring and having my best interest at heart. I love u," adding that "life is wild."
Is there anything more infectious than seeing someone so in love with their new hair? Rock on, Ariana!
