Out with the old and in with the new!

That's the tune America Ferrera is signing these days, at least when it comes to her hair.

The 32-year-old actress took to Instagram to share an entirely new hairdo just in time for fall.

Ferrera, who's currently starring in NBC's show "Superstar," made a big change this season and bid farewell to her long brunette locks. She chopped them into spunky, chin-grazing bob complete with some blond highlights.

Who says light and short hair is just for summer? Because Ferrera looks positively radiant with this sunny style.

Both the blond highlights and bob cut mark completely new territory for Ferrera, who typically wears her dark hair in long, cascading waves. In fact, this is both the lightest and shortest we've ever seen the actress go with her hair.

So what motivated Ferrera to make the big chop? "Electing a new president calls for a new hairstyle!" she wrote in a caption accompanying the photo showcasing the big change.

But she's certainly not alone in her style choice. Both the bob and lob (that's short for long bob) are two of the most popular hairstyles in Hollywood, with everyone from Celine Dion to Mindy Kaling taking the plunge recently.
