Bathing beauties come in all shapes and sizes — and, it turns out, ages.
Irene, a 90-year-old grandmother in Australia, shows off in a red-and-white polka-dot bikini in a now-viral photo that's circulating on Facebook. She reportedly bought the swimsuit at the urging of staff and residents at her nursing home, before going on a cruise with her family, the owner of Lady Watego, the Byron Bay, New South Wales, shop where Irene bought the swimsuit, wrote online.
The popular photo is a reminder for women of all ages that the key to being bikini-ready is confidence.
"She looks absolutely beautiful," one woman wrote online.
"I can only hope I look that fabulous when I am 90," said another.
Irene's own daughter even chimed in, saying she had escorted her mom on the cruise and writing, "I feel so proud of my mother! What an inspiration!"
The shop posted the photo of Irene on its Facebook page, where it's been "liked" nearly 2,000 times.
"This is the message I try to get across to women of all ages in my store — get out and enjoy life!" the store's owner wrote.
Some commenters pointed out that the photo is great advertising for Seafolly, the maker of Irene's swimsuit.
