The good news is the classic one-piece is having a serious moment, and there are so many styles out there that are as confidence-boosting as they are budget-friendly. But there are also some that are well worth the splurge.
Not only does a one-piece take the stress out of finding a matching top and bottom set, it's also a lot more versatile than you may think. In fact, Glamour's Editor-in-Chief Sam Barry recently shared with TODAY some of her top selects, along with tips on finding the right swimwear.

If you're looking for coverage but want to wear something a bit more trendy, this one-shoulder swimsuit is the perfect medium. Even better? It also provides "superior compression." According to the brand, The Sidestroke has earned top remarks for its slimming perks, which they contribute to the diagonal seaming and polymide-elastane fabric.
Plus, "it has full bust support without cups or padding which is great for all bust sizes larger or smaller," Barry adds.

"If you are looking for something special, in addition to being a swimsuit, this can double as a great bodysuit if you pair it with your favorite skirt or pair of pants," Barry suggests.
One of the main attractions, for example, is the underwire cups that support your bust and ultimately make the swimsuit a closet staple.
Lands' End Women’s Chlorine-Resistant Smoothing Control One Piece Swimsuit
For those looking for a more modest alternative, you might want to consider all that this Lands' End suit has to offer. You have the high neck detail (with a mesh fabric!), adjustable shoulder straps and "smoothing control" lining, all the way to the full coverage bottom. And a bonus: It's also made from chlorine-resistant fabric in hopes of preserving the swimsuit's quality, which Barry says "lasts longer than suits made with ordinary spandex."
