While eating any food will slightly raise your metabolic rate since digestion actually burns calories, protein has the greatest effect — more so than carbs and fat. Also, there's some interesting research, which shows that adding some spicy heat can help rev your metabolism a bit, too. So add some extra jalapenos on top if you’re feeling brave and dig in! I like to eat it over lettuce cups, but you could also make an open-faced sandwich on whole-grain bread. Enjoy!
