From outdoor concerts to summer weddings, there's nothing quite as romantic as a pretty floral crown — and it's actually super simple to make on your own!
Kate Pankoke, the designer behind Elaya Vaughn Bridal and a former "Project Runway All Star" contestant, shows us how to make a DIY flower crown in just three easy steps.
What you'll need:
- Silk flowers and foliage
- Hemp-wrapped wire
- Plain wire
- Wire cutters
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
What you'll do:
- Measure your head with the hemp-wrapped wire and twist pieces together to create the base. Pro tip! The band should rest comfortably on the back of your head, not wrap around the forehead.
- Lay out the design you like best and mold the stems to fit the curve of the best. And glue! Pro tip! Aim to have a good mix of large and small flowers.
- To ensure the flowers are secure, wrap the entire base with plain wire. Then cover the exposed wire with foliage.
