Chef notes

Put a little twist on your turkey and cheese sandwiches with these fun roll-ups. They're easy to eat and will provide enough energy for the whole afternoon.

Technique tip: Place leftover cream cheese spread in a tight seal container and refrigerate for up to a week.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cream cheese at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese of choice
  • 2 tortilla wraps
  • 4-6 slices deli turkey
  • baby spinach (optional)

Preparation

1.

Into a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, mayo, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper and shredded cheese. Mix to combine.

2.

Spread some of the cream cheese mixture on a tortilla, taking care not to spread all the way to the edge.

3.

Add 2 to 3 slices of turkey and a handful of spinach, if you like. Roll up tightly.

4.

Place in some plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour or overnight. This will ensure the spread has firmed and make it easy to cut. (It's OK to skip this step if you don't have the time.)

5.

Remove from plastic wrap and cut in half at the center. Cut each half into thirds for a total of six rollups.
