Bacon-Wrapped Steak Bites with Horseradish Cream

Whether at a tailgate or holiday party, everybody loves this appetizer. They're as easy to make as they are to eat.

Technique tip: Make sure your pan is super hot before searing the beef so you get a nice, caramelized crust.

Ingredients

Horseradish Cream Sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 ounces prepared horseradish
Steak Bites
  • 1 pound beef tenderloin
  • 1/2 pound bacon
  • kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Preparation

For the horseradish cream sauce:

Mix all ingredients together and chill until ready to serve.

For the steak bites:

Preheat oven to 450 F.

Pat tenderloin dry and cut into 1-inch cubes. Season with salt and pepper.

Cut bacon in half and wrap around steak. Secure with skewer or toothpick.

Grease a medium-sized skillet and warm to medium-high heat. Sear steak for 1 to 2 minutes on each side.

Place on baking sheet, bacon-side down. Bake for 2 to 3 minutes, flip and bake for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. Brush with Worcestershire sauce.

6.

Serve immediately with horseradish cream sauce, for dipping.
