Adding sour cream to guacamole might be controversial, but everyone who has tried this recipe absolutely loves it! Sour cream makes this delightful dip super creamy and totally delicious. If your kids or anyone in your family doesn’t like spicy food, feel free to leave out the jalapeño juice.
- 2 large Hass avocados
- 1/2 lemon or lime
- 1/2 cup jarred salsa
- 1/4 cup jalapeño juice (from jarred jalapeños)
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- Salt, to taste
1. Scoop out the avocados and roughly chop or mash them in a mixing bowl. Reserve the pit.
2. Add salt, a squeeze of lemon (or lime) juice, salsa and jalapeño juice. Add in a generous dollop of sour cream and keep mixing.
3. Spoon into a serving bowl and serve with chips and your favorite salsa.
If you have any leftover guacamole, to prevent browning, store it with the pit in a sealed container.
