These spicy bites are sure to disappear fast! They're great for game-day but make a pleasant addition to any appetizer spread.
Technique tip: Use a 1-ounce scoop to make even portions.
Ingredients
- Olive oil
- 1 pound hot breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
- 12 ounces pimento cheese with jalapeño, preferably Palmetto Cheese
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1½ cups pancake mix, preferably Bisquick
Preparation
1.Preheat oven to 350°F. Rub sheet pan with olive oil.
2.In a large bowl mix sausage with cream cheese. Add pimento cheese, salt and pepper and mix. Add the pancake mix and fold in until completely incorporated.
3.Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place on sheet pan.
4.Place in oven and bake 20-25 minutes. Let rest 10 minutes then serve warm or at room temperature.
