Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows
  • 2 graham crackers, broken into bite-size pieces
  • Chef notes

My Girl Scouts became proficient in microwave s’mores the year we were hit by El Niño. It was then that they came up with this variation of the original. There is no better way to run a rainy day meeting of fidgety girls than to get them all hopped up on sugar. Just be sure to hide the glue guns.

    Preparation

Combine the peanut butter and chocolate chips in a large mug and stir together. Add the mini marshmallows and graham cracker bits and toss to evenly distribute. Microwave for 30 to 60 seconds until the chocolate and marshmallows have melted. Cool slightly, and serve.

    Variations:

OREOS: If you replace the graham crackers with crumbled Oreos, you will be a hero.

CHOCOLATE OPTIONS: Hershey’s bars are the standard s’more ingredient, but chocolate chips aremore mug-friendly. That said, no one would turn up their nose at a s’more made with broken bits of candy bar. Instead of a Hershey’s bar, try a Kit Kat, a peanut butter cup, or even a Snickers. (This is a great way to use up those leftover Halloween candy minis.)
