Ingredients

  • 30 eggs
  • 2 1/3 cup liquid shortening
  • 2 cup water
  • 5 pound matzoh meal

Preparation

Baking Directions:

In a large bowl, mix the eggs, shortening, water, matzoh meal, and seasoning.

  The mixture should be thick, but manageable.

  Place it in the refrigerator to chill.

  This makes it easier to handle.

By hand, form round balls about the size of a billiard ball.

Boil the balls for 45 minutes in consommé.

Serving Directions:

Serve two matzoh balls per portion.
