The holidays call for a celebratory sparkling drink, and this one does not disappoint. The sweet and tart pomegranate complements the elegant flavor of bubbly wine and adds a beautiful ruby color to the drink.


Pomegranate grenadine
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • Sparkling wine
  • 1/2 ounce pomegranate grenadine (recipe above)
  • Fresh pomegranate seeds, to garnish


For the pomegranate grenadine:

In a small pot, bring the sugar and pomegranate juice to a boil then reduce to medium heat and simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in the fresh lemon juice as need to enhance tartness.

For the cocktail:

Fill a champagne flute with sparkling wine, add the pomegranate grenadine and garnish with pomegranate seeds.
